PATNA, Sept. 24 -- BJP president Nitin Nabin on Wednesday appointed former Basti MP Harish Dwivedi as its new Bihar in-charge, with Rajya Sabha MP Sangeeta Yadav and Gujarat leader Rohan Gupta named his deputies, as the party announced organisational appointments for 36 states and Union territories. The appointments also saw a record six leaders from Bihar being given responsibilities as state in-charges or deputy in-charges elsewhere among the 36 in-charges and 39 deputy in-charges mentioned in the list released by the BJP central office in New Delhi. Vinod Tawde, who was earlier the BJP's Bihar in-charge, was moved to Uttar Pradesh ahead of next year's Assembly polls, with the incumbent BJP government seeking a third consecutive term. The UP legislative assembly's current term expires on May 22.
