PATNA, March 14 -- An active member of the banned People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI), was arrested with AK-47 rifle, two regular rifles in Bihar's Nawada district, said a senior police officer on Friday. Although the PLFI is largely active in neighbouring Jharkhand, the arrests brought its presence in Bihar to the fore. Acting on intelligence inputs regarding the movement of PLFI activist Ajit Kumar Yadav, a native of the Rajauli police station area in Nawada district, a joint team of STF and Nawada police led by SP Abhinav Dheeman mobilised a police team to conduct a search operation. Ajit Yadav, an active member of the PLFI, a splinter group of the CPI (Maoist) was arrested from Nawada. Police recovered one AK47 assault rifle, 21 live cartridges, two magazines, two rifles of .315 bore, ten live cartridges, three ammunitions pouches and three sets uniform from his possession, said director general, Operation, Kundan Krishnan, adding that the arrested activist is interrogating by the police and an FIR registered with the Rajauli police station against the Yadav.
