Haldwani, Sept. 30 -- Nainital police on Monday forcibly shifted Bhupendra Koranga, who was on a hunger strike in Haldwani demanding a CBI inquiry into the paper leak case and a cancellation and re-conduct of the exam, to a hospital in Haldwani. Koranga had been on a hunger strike for the past four days, demanding a CBI investigation into the UKSSSC paper leak case, which has sparked statewide protests. The decision to transfer him to the hospital was made on medical advice after his condition deteriorated, police officials said. However, local supporters of the agitation alleged that the state government and district administration were trying to suppress their protest instead of addressing their demands. Following Koranga's shifting, Piyush Joshi and Vinod Kumar began a hunger strike. Youth preparing for government jobs are staging an indefinite sit-in protest at Buddha Park on Nainital Road in Haldwani under the banner of Uttarakhand Yuva Ekta Manch, demanding a CBI investigation into the UKSSSC paper leak, cancellation and re-conduct of the exam, and action against those responsible for the leak. Koranga began a hunger strike four days ago to press for these demands. On Monday, Haldwani Circle Officer Nitin Lohani and City Magistrate Gopal Singh Chauhan, accompanied by a heavy police force, arrived at Buddha Park. Lohani attempted to persuade the protesters, but they remained adamant on their demands for a CBI investigation and a re-conduct of the exam. Haldwani Circle Officer Nitin Lohani said, "The health department had advised Bhupendra Koranga to be admitted, so Koranga has been admitted to the hospital. The rest of the youth's protest is ongoing."...
