PATNA, July 17 -- Bihar health secretary Kumar Ravi on Thursday warned that government doctors found absent from roster duty without sanctioned leave would face suspension and departmental action, while those found referring patients to private hospitals without justification would also face stringent action, health department said. Reviewing functioning of government hospitals in Arwal, Bhojpur, Lakhisarai and Saharsa districts through a video conference from health department's command and control centre, Ravi assessed duty rosters, surgical services, referral system and online data entry on BHAVYA portal, an integrated digital health platform that enables hospitals to maintain health records of patients, record referrals, and facilitate seamless sharing of patient information across government health facilities. The health secretary directed all civil surgeons to ensure strict adherence to rotational duty rosters in hospitals.
