govt offers 15.1 acres land to Isha Foundation
PATNA, June 28 -- The Bihar government has decided to allot around 15.1 acres of land in Tarapur (Mauja Gajipur) area of Munger to the Coimbatore-based Isha Foundation. The land will be given on a 99-year lease for a token amount of just Rs.1, for setting up an Isha Yoga Centre.
A senior officer from the cabinet secretariat confirmed that the state cabinet headed by chief minister Samrat Choudhary approved the proposal and a yoga centre to promote cultural, religious and spiritual activities, along with spiritual tourism would be built on the plot. An official note from the tourism department says the move fits with the state's efforts to encourage holistic well-being and attract people interested in yoga, meditation and spiritual practices.
