Govt launches 'Bihar Vidya Sathi' for digital mentorship of students
PATNA, Aug. 25 -- Chief minister Samrat Choudhary on Monday inaugurated "Bihar Vidya Sathi", an ambitious round-the-clock interactive learning platform designed to provide personalised, one-to-one academic support.
Launched via video-conferencing from the Sankalp auditorium at the Lok Sevak Awas, the transformative initiative is set to directly empower nearly 300,000 students across 700 Saraswati Vidya Niketan Model Schools spanning all 38 districts of Bihar. The platform mobilises a vast network of 75,000 expert teachers, giving secondary and senior secondary students the flexibility to choose mentors based on their individual learning preferences.
Students in Classes IX and X will enjoy comprehensive academic coverage across all subjects, while students of Classes XI and XII in the science stream can access specialised digital resources alongside live-tutoring to prepare for the Bihar Board, JEE, and NEET competitive examinations.
By integrating modern artificial intelligence tools, the portal actively strengthens concept clarity, offering tailored practice sessions and continuous academic engagement completely free of charge.
Emphasising the state administration's commitment to educational equity, the CM highlighted that the platform ensures quality guidance and immediate problem-solving for learners whenever and wherever they need it.
Speaking at the launch, the CM urged students to make the most of the new digital ecosystem, clear their doubts without hesitation, and harness knowledge to reach new personal and professional milestones.
He further underscored that while the platform is initially being rolled out across model schools, the government plans to systematically expand it to state-run institutions statewide to ensure no learner is left behind.
The event also featured the screening of a dedicated short film alongside a live demonstration of the application's interface by students Jahanvi and Ziya from Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Shastrinagar.
