Gaya man arrested for Rs.2.91 crore cyber fraud
GAYA, July 6 -- A joint team comprising Bihar Cyber Crime and Security Unit and Gaya Cyber Police conducted a raid on a house at Amarut village, arresting an accused in connection with fraud of Rs.2.91crore linked to 22 cyber complaints across several states, officers said on Sunday.
On Saturday, the Bihar Cyber Crime and Security Unit informed the Gaya Police Cyber Wing that an analysis of complaints regarding Investment Scams on the NCRP portal had revealed a significant fact.
At least 11 suspicious mobile numbers, linked to 22 complaints from various states involving online financial fraud totalling Rs.2,91,18,286 had been issued from a single Point of Sale terminal traced to Gaya.
SSP Gaya, Sushil Kumar formed a special team under the Cyber DSP AR Danish to verify the information and take action. Subsequently, Gautam Kumar, from Amarut village was held....
