GAYA JI, April 15 -- In a shocking incident, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly gang raped by four persons at a village under Amas police station area of Gaya Ji district. A cousin of the girl and a father of three were among the accused in the heinous crime, police said on Tuesday. Police further said the victim, accompanied by a friend, was returning home after participating in a family feast. The accused were smoking cannabis near a culvert on the way. Upon seeing the girls alone, the four accused chased them. The friend managed to escape while the victim was overpowered by the accused. They gagged her with a gamchha (towel), smashed her mobile phone with a stone and raped her one by one. Upon returning home late at night in a state of extreme distress following the incident, the minor recounted the entire ordeal to her mother. The incident occurred late Sunday night but the mother informed the father on Monday after the girl developed severe pain. The parents reached Amas police station and a case was registered under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against the accused on the statement of the mother, police added. Taking the matter seriously, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Gaya, Sushil Kumar, immediately constituted a police team under Amas SHO, Akhilesh Kumar. The FSL and technical teams were rushed to the place to collect scientific evidence. The girl was sent to the government hospital for medical examination and treatment where she was recovering, the SSP said. All the four accused were arrested who confessed to their involvement in the crime. The four were identified as Shishupal Kumar, Sajan Kumar and two minors. Shishupal is a father of three children. "Police will soon complete the investigation and submit a charge sheet recommending the speedy trial of the case to ensure quick and stringent punishment to the accused. Two minor accused will be produced before the Juvenile Justice Board for further legal action," the SSP said....
