PATNA, Sept. 24 -- A former councillor of Patna municipal corporation Anil Kumar Yadav was grievously injured after three bike-borne assailants fired five rounds at him from a close distance on Wednesday evening. Police said Yadav was sitting with some friends in the basement of his apartment located at Chakaram road under Buddha Colony police station area of the state capital. DSP (law & order) Krishna Murari Prasad said Yadav suffered bullet injuries in his lower abdomen, hands and thigh and was rushed to a nearby hospital at Boring Canal Road. Police are securing footage from nearby CCTV cameras to identify assailants and ascertain the circumstances of the crime. Yadav was previously elected as a councillor from Ward 24 of PMC. His wife Gyanwati Devi is currently a councillor. Various aspects, were being investigated, the police added....
