PATNA, June 2 -- Properties worth crores of rupees were destroyed after a fire broke out at the microbiology department of the Patna medical college and hospital (PMCH) on Monday noon. No one was reported injured in the incident. Police said that the fire caught at around 2pm when the examination of the microbiology was being conducted at the department. Staff, students and others were immediately evacuated after smoke was coming out which created panic. "The fire destroyed freezers, air conditions, official documents, furniture and laboratory chemical, an estimated to be worth Rs 1.5 crore," said a police officer....
