New Delhi, Sept. 9 -- A larger group of Congress leaders from Bihar, most of them expelled from the party after the debacle in the 2025 assembly polls, staged a dharna outside the Congress headquarters-Indira Bhavan-to demand removal of state unit chief Rajesh Kumar and party in-charge Krishna Allavaru. They also wanted to meet LoP Rahul Gandhi to directly appraise him of the issues of the party workers. Led by Anand Madhav, a former spokesperson of Bihar Congress, the dharna continued for five hours from 11 AM to 4PM, creating a bizarre spectacle outside the office. Madhav told HT, "We are fighting for the people of Bihar as well as the party. We might be expelled but we are well-wishers. The Congress must remove those responsible for the poll debacle. The Bihar unit chief lost his own seat. He should be removed. The state in-charge should be held accountable." "We have been trying to meet Rahul Gandhi for long. We met party chief Mallikarjun Kharge and general secretary KC Venugopal... Rahul Gandhi needs to know the reality. We had to take this step because our issues remain unheard. We also want that expulsion notices against us be withdrawn and we should be reinstated in respectable positions in BPCC," said Madhav. Another expelled leader Shaukat Ali said, "We have four key demands that includes meeting Rahul Gandhi. Bihar Congress needs a revamp."...
