PATNA, May 17 -- The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) on Saturday conducted raids at four locations linked to Gopal Kumar Gupta, an executive engineer of Rural Works Division in Jhajha, Jamui, in connection with a disproportionate assets case. Gupta, who joined the government in 2008 and was promoted to the designation in 2022, has been accused of amassing assets 81.5 % higher than known sources of income. EOU stated that he amassed over Rs.50 crore through illegal means. During the raids, officials recovered Rs.48 lakh cash, documents related to land, flats, commercial shops, multiple bank accounts, houses and gold.
