BETTIAH, Aug. 24 -- East Champaran district administration has directed block education officers (BEOs) to conduct surprise inspections at schools on every working day, partake in midday meals and share photographs of their visits and respective meals in designated WhatsApp groups, following complaints of insects in midday meal and protests by students at Bhimrao Ambedkar Residential School in Sugaon under Sagauli block, officials said on Sunday. "The BEOs are also required to check the general cleanliness of the kitchen and the school premises during their visits. In the kitchen, they have also directed to check the status of nets and ensure its installation, if unavailable, on the kitchen windows," said the statement issued by district magistrate Suman Saurabh Yadav on Saturday.
