E Champaran: Vande Bharat window pane damaged in stone pelting
BETTIAH, Aug. 6 -- In yet another incident, a window pane of Vande Bharat Express was damaged after unidentified antisocial elements pelted stones on the train while it was passing through Bihar's East Champaran district, officials said on Wednesday.
Bharat Prasad, inspector, Railway Protection Force (RPF), Motihari said that the incident took place when the Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 26501), between Patna (Patliputra Junction) and Gorakhpur, was attacked near Sagauli junction while travelling towards Gorakhpur around 7pm on Tuesday.
"Window pane of coach C-4 was damaged. The CCTV footage is being examined to identify those involved in the incident," Prasad said.
This is the fifth incident of stone pelting targeting the Vande Bharat Express in the region.
In December last year, three windows of the train were damaged due to stone pelting in Muzaffarpur district. In August, a window of the train was damaged in a similar incident near Chakia in East Champaran. In July 2025, several incidents were reported in Muzaffarpur and West Champaran....
