Don't vote for Lalu's son: Shah at poll rally

PATNA, Nov. 3 -- With only two days left before electioneering ends for the first phase, NDA leaders intensified their campaign with home minister Amit Shah, CM Nitish Kumar and deputy CM of Uttar Pradesh among the prominent, who campaigned for the NDA candidates at various districts on Sunday.
Shah in his rallies at Vaishali and Muzaffarpur strongly hit out at the RJD's rule from 1990s to 2005, alleging the state had slipped into misgovernnance and poor law and order during the rule of RJD chief Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi.
In Muzaffarpur, Shah recalled the murder of G Krishnaiah, DM of Gopalganj by a mob in 1994, highlighting the "jungleraj" under Lalu regime.
"During Lalu-Rabri's administration, here in Gopalganj, DM Krishnaiah was beaten to death; if Lalu's son becomes CM again, then three ministries will be created in Bihar: one to run the kidnapping industry, a second to collect extortion, and a third to promote abduction and bloodshed," Shah said.
The minister urged voters to vote for the victory of NDA candidates in the upcoming elections to keep "jungleraj" away.
Further, he said the "jungleraj" that Bihar had experienced for 15 years had returned in the current elections with a "changed" face. Shah emphasised the strength of the NDA coalition, likening it to the five Pandavas, and asserted the alliance was determined to stop the return of "Jungle Raj".
"... BJP, JD(U), Chirag Paswan's LJP (Ram Vilas) Party, Jitan Ram Manjhi's HAM Party, and Upendra Kushwaha's Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) Party are united and determined to stop the Jungle Raj," said Shah
Shah also slammed Congress MP Sonia Gandhi, saying she was concerned not about the country but only about making her son PM of the country.
"Lalu Ji and Sonia Ji, both are concerned not about the country, but about their own families. Lalu Ji wants his son to become the CM, and Sonia Ji wants her son to become PM. But let me tell neither Tejashwi can become CM, nor Rahul PM because the seats are not vacant. In Bihar, there is Nitish Babu, and in Delhi, there is Modi ji!," Shah said.
Hailing Nitish Kumar and Modi for the development works in Bihar, Shah said, "It was Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi who steered Bihar away from Jungle Raj and toward development. Under Modi's rule, Muzaffarpur's litchis go across the country and the world, spreading their sweetness," Shah said.
"The Modi-Nitish duo gave Bihar AIIMS, an airport, a metro, and a power plant," he added. Shah also underlined various development projects under NDA rule in past two decades including a six-lane Ganga bridge in Kutchi Dargah, Bidupur; reconstruction of Gandhi Setu; Betia-Patna Highway; bridge on the Gandak River; Amash Darbhanga Expressway, which will pass through the Vaishali district and Vande Bharat train service to Vaishali.
In Vaishali rally, Shah also talked of the establishment of a medical college in Mahua and a large industrial park on 1243 acres, which will employ thousands of people. "Very soon, in our Mahua, a medical college is also going to start. In Hajipur, we have built the third most advanced industrial facility in the country, we have modernised Sadar Hospital, and with 130 crores, in the Hajipur Nagar Parishad area, we have also built a stormwater facility," said Shah.
"We have decided in the manifesto that 1 crore youth of Bihar will be provided with government jobs. A mega skill centre will be established in every district. Bihar government will add Rs.3,000 to the Rs.6,000 farmers receive from the Modi government... Now, Bihar's farmers will receive Rs.9,000 annually. Permanent houses will be built for 50 lakh poor people. Free education will be provided to poor students from KG to PG," Shah said.
On his part, CM Nitish Kumar in his rallies at Tarapur and a few places in Saharsa, highlighted the work done in past 20 years for Bihar's development and made an oblique dig at the RJD rule, stating that 'they never worked for development'.
" I have always worked for the welfare of the state and put development on my priority working for all sections of the society. But they only worked to push their family. In one instance, he even made his wife the CM. They had pushed the state to underdevelopment and chaos whereas now there is peace, development in Bihar," said CM Kumar, obliquely hitting out at the RJD's previous rule and also referencing to RJD chief Lalu Prasad's move in 1997 to make his wife Rabri Devi the CM after being charge sheeted in the multi-crore fodder scam.
At Mahisi, Saharsa, the JD(U) strongman also said people of Bihar were now enjoying free power as there was high availability of power whereas the opposition was still carrying on with 'lantern'- poll symbol of the RJD. "Now people in Bihar are getting free power and entire state is lit up and glowing. After all, who will prefer now to get light from lantern when they have electricity?" said Kumar, in an oblique dig at the RJD.
CM Kumar also stressed that law and order had improved and women empowerment was now visible in the state owing to various innovative steps taken, including the recent financial assistance of Rs.10,000 given to women beneficiaries under the Mukkymantri Rojgar Yojana. He also highlighted how jobs were given to youths and more employment avenues would be created , if NDA came to power in a bid to counter the RJD's promise that every household would be given one government job, who do not have government employment.
LJP (RV) president Union minister Chirag Paswan also held rallies in various places, seeking votes for NDA to accelerate the pace of development in the state under Nitish and Modi.
UP dyCM Keshav Prasad Maurya on Sunday addressed three public meetings in Narkatiaganj, Nautan and Bettiah in West Champaran. He also claimed that Tejashwi was busy making promises to give the post of deputy CM to many leaders from the INDIA bloc, knowing well that the Mahagathbandhan would never get to form government....
