PATNA, June 29 -- Mustakin Khan, a sub-inspector posted at Kanti police station in Muzaffarpur district, was directed to report in police line on Sunday for allegedly brandishing a sword while wearing the uniform during a Muharram procession on Friday. Earlier, he was served a show cause notice for the act that was part of the matam (active or animated mourning) that some devotees indulge in during the Muharram procession. The action was taken after a video of the purported incident went viral on social media. Muzaffarpur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), K Mishra, took cognizance and served a show cause notice on sub-inspector after viral a video for allegedly brandishing a sword while wearing the uniform during a Muharram procession. The SSP said that the officer was identified as a sub-inspector Mustakin Khan attached to Kanti police station in Muzaffarpur district. "A show cause notice was earlier served and now he has been asked to report in the police line," he added.
