Dhanbad, April 17 -- A road accident claimed two lives and injured one person after three trucks collided and caught fire near Kulgo toll plaza under Dumri police station here on Thursday morning, people aware of the development said. A maize-laden truck and a coal-laden truck-were reportedly parked along the roadside while their drivers and helpers were resting inside. Around the same time, a speeding truck (carrying jaggery) coming from the Bagodar side towards Dumri lost control and rammed the stationary maize-laden truck. The impact pushed the maize-laden truck forward into the coal-laden truck parked ahead, resulting in a chain collision involving all three vehicles. Within moments, all three trucks caught fire. Eyewitnesses said the driver and helper trapped inside the jaggery-laden truck were burnt alive. Their identities are yet to be established. Another truck driver sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where his condition is reported to be stable. SDPO Dumri, Sumit Kumar, said, "Prima facie, the incident appears to have been caused by speeding and negligent driving."...
