Darbhanga DM suspends 3 for illegal mutation of govt land
DARBHANGA, July 12 -- Darbhanga district magistrate (DM) Kaushal Kumar has suspended three revenue employees and ordered departmental proceedings against eight other revenue officials and employees after an inquiry uncovered irregularities regarding the illegal mutation of government land and the creation of private land records in Sadar circle, officials aware of the development said.
The action follows an investigation into the alleged illegal sale of 4 bigha, 13 kattha and 10 dhur of gairmazarua khas (government) lake land in Khojkipur mouza under Sadar circle.
According to the district administration, property dealers had been filling the waterbody with soil and selling the land after securing fraudulent mutation orders.
A two-member inquiry committee, comprising additional district magistrate and the deputy collector land reforms (DCLR- Sadar) was constituted to examine the allegations and identify officials responsible for the irregularities.
The inquiry found that former circle officers, revenue officers and revenue employees had, with malafide intent, approved mutations and created "raiyati jamabandi" (private land records) in 27 cases involving the government land.
Acting on the findings, the district magistrate suspended revenue employees Chandan Kumar Sharma, Nand Lal Das and Nehal Kumar with immediate effect....
