PATNA, Feb. 26 -- Worried over frequent bomb threats targeting court premises across Bihar, the state home department has decided to bolster technology based security measures significantly. Accordingly, it has tied up a Noida based company to supply and install more than 70 isometric view advanced X-ray baggage systems (XBS) at around 40 courts. Key sites include the Patna high court, Patna civil court, Nalanda, Gaya, Bhojpur, Buxar and other major courts. Home secretary Pranav Kumar noted that installation of surveillance gates and X-ray baggage scanners has begun, with all major courts to be covered. Deputy CM and home minister Samrat Chaudhary emphasised on Wednesday that the security of courts remains of paramount importance, stating, "Recent hoax calls to blast several courts has put the entire machinery on their toes to foil the nefarious design. The department has been asked to tighten the security around the courts in alliance with the Patna high court."...
