Kota, Aug. 29 -- Mahak, the "Queen" of Kota's Abheda Biological Park, turned 23 on Friday, with the tigress setting a longevity record in the country, officials said, adding tigers in captivity had average lifespan of 16-18 years. ACF Pankaj Meena said Mahak had suffered health issues for a brief period, but had now recovered completely. Her diet was also modified during the change in weather to support her health. "She is now completely healthy and moves around the enclosure comfortably. A team of veterinarians also examines and treats her from time to time," Meena said. Mahak was born in Jaipur. In 2023, she was shifted to Abheda, where she was released alongside a male tiger, Nahaar, officials said. They said Mahak's survival to 23 was exceptional, given the normal lifespan of tigers....
