Cops announce bounty to arrest 3 in Sultanganj double-murder case
PATNA, May 17 -- Bhagalpur police on Saturday announced a cash reward of Rs.25,000 against Sultanganj Nagar Parishad (SNP) deputy chairperson Neelam Devi and Rs.50,000 each against her two sons Manish Kumar and Ankit Kumar in the double-murder case of chairman Rajkumar Sah and executive officer Krishna Bhushan Kumar.
Police said that range IG Vivek Kumar announced the bounty on the recommendation of Bhagalpur senior superintendent of police (SSP) Pramod Kumar Yadav. "The reward will only be given to those with concrete information about the accused. Meanwhile, police are conducting raids at possible hideouts," an officer said.
Bhagalpur SSP said, "The two murders were premeditated. In several SNP meetings, Devi had allegedly said 'this is not Sultanganj, it is Shaitanganj and everything will work here according to me' - a statement mentioned by Krishna in the meeting minutes. Besides, there are allegations of conspiracy. Now, Devi and her sons are missing."
On April 28, Rajkumar and Krishna were shot dead allegedly by Neelam's husband Ram Dhani Yadav and his associates inside the SNP premises. The executive officer died on the spot while the chairman died in Patna during the treatment. Ram Dhani was later killed in an encounter which his other family members claimed was "fake."...
