Cong is conspiring to create an atmosphere of unrest: Paswan
PATNA, Nov. 1 -- Union minister Chirag Paswan on Saturday hit out at the Opposition, alleging that "some parties, especially the Congress, are conspiring to create an atmosphere of unrest and chaos within the country to fulfil their narrow political ambitions, but would not succeed".
Talking to media persons, Paswan, who received birthday wishes from the Prime Minister and other leaders, appealed to the countrymen to be cautious of such elements and forces.
"India is the largest democracy in the world and more than 140 crore conscious people of the country are keeping a keen eye on such disruptive efforts. Some parties are trying to create chaos and instability for political gains," he added.
He said it was wrong to compare the conditions in India with Bangladesh and European countries just because some people were desperate to get into power through backdoor. "The Opposition forgets that in a democracy like India, where there is a population of more than 140 crore, one cannot spread an atmosphere of chaos," he added.
"The Congress and its leaders are making those their poster faces, who compare the situation in Bangladesh to our country or got inspired from unrest elsewhere. India is a stable economy despite global challenges and is developing fast, but some people are unable to digest its growth trajectory and it is shameful to say the least," he said, adding that the party is conspiring to create an atmosphere of unrest and chaos within the country to fulfil their narrow political ambitions, but would not succeed.
"No true, patriotic citizen of the country will allow democracy to be destabilised under the influence of foreign forces," he said, expressing concern that under the guise of democratic protests, some antisocial elements were working on foreign agenda, which the people of the country had understood.
Responding to Opposition talks and rumours regarding a probable impeachment motion, Chirag dared them to do so, but giving vent to their electoral frustration by attacking Constitutional bodies and established procedures was not justified.
Reaffirming his commitment to Bihar's development, he resolved on his 44th birthday to work with renewed determination to realise his vision of "Bihar First, Bihari First" and thanked the PM for praising his leadership and acknowledging his work as a minister.
He also expressed gratitude to Union home minister Amit Shah, defence minister Rajnath Singh, and several chief ministers, including Bihar's Samrat Choudhary, Uttar Pradesh's Yogi Adityanath, Assam's Himanta Biswa Sarma and Maharashtra's Devendra Fadnavis, for extending birthday wishes....
