CM to launch manufacturing cluster in Gaya's Dhobi today
PATNA, Oct. 24 -- Chief minister Samrat Choudhary will launch the ambitious Bihar Integrated Manufacturing City Gaya Limited (BIMCGL) at Dobhi, Gaya, along with its web portal on Saturday, industries minister Shreyasi Singh said. Spread over 1,670 acres, the flagship project forms part of the national blueprint of 14 integrated manufacturing cities, she added.
Singh was addressing a press conference at Soochana Bhawan on Friday.
The project will be developed as Bihar's premier and largest integrated industrial township, said the minister, adding that the initiative aligns with Bihar's broader push under the Industries Department to ramp up ease of doing business and build a robust industrial landscape.
The minister said that the development also adds to the state's widening industrial canvass, which attracted 1,091 investment proposals valued at Rs.1,21,863 crore over the past year. This monumental influx of capital is expected to generate more than 68,800 direct employment opportunities.
She emphasised that robust infrastructure expansion, aggressive land facilitation, investor-friendly reforms, and MSME empowerment are driving the unprecedented industrial growth in state.
To sustain this development momentum, she said, the state administration is actively readying over 14,600 acres of fresh industrial land. Strategic land acquisition is underway at 28 district sites spanning 25 districts to meet long-term enterprise demands.
Highlighting targeted physical allocations, the minister noted that the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) has already allotted 727 acres to 521 units during the 2025-26 fiscal, unlocking Rs.18,380 crore in immediate investments and creating over 49,100 jobs.
Eligible investors are also being provided free land under the attractive Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Package (BIPP), she said.
The cornerstone of this transition is modern, ready-to-use infrastructure designed to eliminate operational friction. Bihar has established a wide network of 94 industrial zones featuring over 3.2 million square feet of plug-and-play facilities equipped with uninterrupted power, water, arterial roads, and security setups, allowing enterprises to commence operations without gestation delays.
State industries secretary Kundan Kumar underscored that Dobhi will function as an advanced, sustainable industrial township complete with Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETP) and an Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC), fundamentally altering regional logistics and manufacturing.
Concurrently, the state is also striding into high-technology frontiers under the Bihar Semiconductor Policy 2026. A dedicated technology center spread across 15 acres is underway in Patna with an investment of Rs. 171 crore, alongside a comprehensive blueprint for an Electronics City heading to the cabinet soon....
