PATNA, Sept. 25 -- Chief minister Samrat Choudhary on Thursday directed officials to expedite the solarisation of agricultural feeders and ensure that government wells are operated using solar energy. The directive came during a high-level review meeting focused on major infrastructure and energy projects. The review included the Ganga, Gandak, and Kosi River projects, the Buxar-Bhagalpur Green Field Expressway, the 2400 MW Pirpanty power plant, and the implementation of the PM Kusum Scheme. The meeting also assessed the progress of various flood management and road connectivity initiatives. Choudhary emphasised on the need for a long-term flood risk reduction strategy for the Kosi river system, prioritisation of silt management and action towards construction of new barrages. The progress of Ganga-Ambika Path, Narayani Path and Vishwamitra Path including Buxar-Bhagalpur 6-lane Greenfield Expressway, Pirpanti Thermal Power Project (3x800 MW) and Banka Thermal Power Plant was reviewed.
