BHABUA/SASARAM, June 17 -- In a major relief for government teachers, chief minister Samrat Choudhary said that female teachers would be posted to either in their own village or in the immediately adjacent panchayat. Similarly, male teachers would be given the opportunity to work in the neighbouring block rather than being sent far away. "However, there will no longer be any excuse for not teaching," he warned. The CM said Kaimur and Rohtas had all potential to be an international tourist attraction and the state government would make the area the tourism hub of Bihar. The region is rich with historical and cultural heritage sites and unique flora and fauna. The jungle safari services in the Kaimur region needed to be improved, for which the modernisation of technology and infrastructure is crucial. The state government was already working to make the place the ecotourism epicentre of the state, he said. After offering prayers to Goddess Mundeshwari Bhawani in the ancient temple on Pravara hill in Bhagwanpur block of Kaimur district on Tuesday, the CM was addressing people in a Sahyog Shivir on foothills. He announced an airport between Sasaram and Bhabua as there was no airport between Varanasi and Gaya Ji. He also announced to connect the tourist places like Tutla Bhawani and Mundeshwari temples with subsidized helicopter services. He will lay the foundation of a ropeway to Mundeshwari temple after the rainy season and the temple will be connected with a four-lane highway, the CM said. He inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth Rs.196 crore across the Kaimur district. This includes inauguration of 20 infrastructure projects valued at Rs.162.69 crore and foundation of 40 new road, health, and education schemes of Rs.33.36 crores. Higher Education and Law Minister Sanjay Kumar Singh, Minority Welfare Minister and local MLA Md Zama Khan also addressed the program. Subsequently, the CM visited Baddi village in the Shivsagar block of Rohtas district, where he extended advance congratulations to international cricketer Akashdeep and his family on the occasion of the cricketer's upcoming wedding. Akashdeep is set to tie the knot with Akshita Raj in Varanasi on June 24. Late afternoon, the CM visited Papaur village in the Pachrukhi block of Siwan to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for 44 development schemes worth Rs.415.18 crore. During this event, 26 completed projects worth Rs.236.80 crore were inaugurated, and the foundation stones for 18 new projects worth Rs.178.38 crore were laid down.
