Clerk, broker held taking Rs.5L bribe
Jamshedpur, March 24 -- The Jamshedpur wing of Jharkhand anti-corruption bureau arrested the head clerk of Seraikela-Kharsawan district land acquisition department and his alleged broker associate while taking Rs.5 lakh bribe in lieu of a deal of Rs.40 lakh bribe for payment of compensation of Rs.1.48 crore to a landowner against acquisition of his land, officials said on Monday.
Two raiding teams of ACB arrested DLAO head clerk Pritam Acharya when he came out of a land and revenue department review meeting. His alleged broker associate Vinay Tiwari was picked up by the second ACB team as Tiwari was counting the bribe cash of Rs.5 lakh inside his SUV at the Gamharia Block office., police said....
