CID team raids outgoing JPSC Chief's residence in Jharkhand
RANCHI, July 24 -- The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Thursday conducted a surprise raid at the Kanke residence of outgoing JPSC chairman and former state chief secretary L. Khiangte.
A CID official close to the matter said that apart from Khiangte's residence, raids were also conducted at the JPSC office premise.
"This is part of a probe into alleged irregularities and malpractice in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) 14th Civil Services Examination. CID officials remained present at Khiangte's residence for more than 4 hours scrutinizing numerous important documents and digital records related to the Commission and the examination process," the official said.
The action was taken a day after the state probe agency registered an FIR, following allegations about irregularities in various competitive examinations conducted by the JPSC headed by Khiangte....
