CID arrests former JPSC chairman
RANCHI, Aug. 11 -- The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Jharkhand Police on Monday arrested the former chairman of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) L Khiangte in connection with the ongoing investigations into the alleged irregularities in the examinations conducted by the JPSC, officials said. He was later sent to 14-day judicial custody.
Khiangte, who also served as the state's chief secretary before being appointed JPSC chairman last year, was arrested at his Ranchi residence following a prolonged investigation into a multi-million rupee recruitment scam.
According to senior CID officials, the breakthrough came when a whistleblower provided encrypted digital logs detailing how top-tier administrative positions were systematically sold to the highest bidders....
