Census work: Charge sheet against labour officer for disinterest
Jamshedpur, June 6 -- Seraikela-Kharsawan deputy commissioner (DC) has recommended charge sheet against Chandil block labour enforcement officer (LEO) for disinterest in Census-2027 duty while action was recommended against 20 and show cause notice issued to 45 enumerators and supervisors in East Singhbhum district in view of the slow pace of ongoing house listing exercise, officials said on Friday.
"Ensure charge sheet in due format against Chandil block LEO Haradhan Bhumij and submission of the same for sending it to the department concerned for Bhumij's carelessness, indifference and indiscipline towards his duties under section 11(1) (A) in the clause 8 of the Census-2027 Circular 16. Haradhan Bhumij has filed his reply to the show cause notice dated May 20 on May 27 which has no mention of evidence of census duty. Chandil block development officer (BDO) cum charge census officer on May 12 had reported Bhumij's disinterest in census duty," Nitish Kumar Singh, Seraikela-Kharsawan DC-cum-principal census officer, has directed the Chandil circle officer (CO) in his order, copy of which is with HT.
Meanwhile, East Singhbhum DC Rajiv Ranjan has directed the Mango Municipal Corporation (MMC), Jugsalai Nagar Parishad (JNP) and Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) to pace up Census-2027 house listing exercise and increased the number of enumerators to 513 from 504 while changing seven enumerators.
MMC authorities have issued show cause notice to 30 PDS dealers and teachers and submitted report about them to the DC-cum-principal census officer over their nonchalance towards census duty....
