census Day 1: guv among 32k to self-enumerate
PATNA, April 18 -- Around 32,000 people across Bihar opted for online self-enumeration on the opening day of the Census 2027 process on Friday, with Vaishali district leading the tally at 5,923 entries, officials said.
Chief minister Samrat Choudhary formally launched the self-enumeration phase at the CM secretariat by clicking a mouse, marking the start of what officials described as the first fully digital census exercise in the state.
According to the directorate of census operations, the state capital Patna recorded 2,317 self-enumerations till 6pm on Friday.
The self-enumeration window will remain open from April 17 to May 1.
Senior constitutional functionaries also participated in the process. Officials facilitated self-enumeration for governor Syed Ata Hasnain, the chief minister, Bihar Legislative Assembly speaker and others....
