PATNA, June 30 -- The anti-corruption branch of Kolkata CBI, probing the sensational murder of West Bengal chief minister Suvendu Adhikari's personal assistant (PA) Chandranath Rath, has announced a reward of Rs.50,000 for anyone who gives the agency reliable and credible information about the whereabouts of Krishna Kumar Singh alias Atal Singh of Buxar, who is involved in Rath's murder. In a public notice pasted in Buxar, the CBI appealed to the general public, stating that anyone with credible and reliable information should contact the SP, CBI, special crime branch-1, at his mobile numbers 9650394813 or 9612676484, or the official e-mail ID spscu2del@cbi.gov.in. The CBI will hand out a cash reward of Rs.50,000 if the information provided by a person proves credible and reliable and has promised not to reveal the identity of such persons. In the notice, the CBI stated that the SP has a camp office on the 12th floor of NBCC square, New Town 24 Pargana. Atal Singh has a criminal record and faces multiple cases including those of murder, attempt to murder, robbery and violation of the Arms Act in various police stations of Buxar district. Of these, six cases are from the Town police station and four from the Mufassil police station. The CBI and Bihar Police are actively looking for him as he remains at large after the PA's murder. CBI officials said that Atal's name emerged during the probe into Chandranath's murder. "Several crucial facts came to light during the probe, drawing our attention to Atal Singh. He has been on the run since Chandranath's murder, and we are conducting continuous raids at various locations to locate him," said an official, who arrived at Buxar late on Sunday. Earlier on May 22, the CBI, took Sanjay Rai, an under-trial prisoner of Buxar Central Jail, on a 10-day remand. Sanjay, a resident of Zamania (Dildarnagar) in Uttar Pradesh, was lodged in Buxar Central Jail after his arrest by Rajpur police for possession of liquor. Speculation was rife that Sanjay Rai got himself arrested for possessing alcohol as part of a strategy to divert police attention from his alleged involvement in the murder. The CBI had arrested two persons: Navin Kumar Singh, a resident of the Zamani area under Fefna police station limits in Ballia district and Vinay alias Pumpum of Ghazipur district in Uttar Pradesh. Before the investigation was handed over to the CBI, the STF of the West Bengal Police with the help of Bihar STF had arrested two accused: Mayank Mishra and Vicky Maurya from Buxar and Raj Singh from Ayodhya....
