bokaro: Home Guard jawan hurt In clash
Dhanbad, May 23 -- A Home Guard jawan was injured after a clash broke out between security personnel and some local residents near Bokaro Niwas in Bokaro early Friday morning over alleged illegal electricity hooking, police said.
The incident took place between 6 and 7 am when Home Guard jawans deployed in the area reportedly noticed some persons allegedly drawing electricity through unauthorised hooking. When they tried to stop them and seize the wires, an argument broke out, which soon turned into a physical scuffle. The injured jawan was later admitted to Bokaro General Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment, police added.
Eyewitness accounts suggested tension in the area as there was pushing and jostling between the two sides.
BSL Security has lodged a complaint at Sector 6 police station, and the matter is now under investigation. Bokaro Steel Limited (BSL) chief of communications MK Dhan said, "It was not a planned drive by BSL Security.
Earlier reports had suggested that a broader action against illegal electricity and water connections was underway in the area. However, the company clarified the incident resulted from an instant intervention by security personnel after spotting the alleged illegal activity....
