BJP starts drive to seek people's suggestions for poll manifesto
PATNA, Oct. 6 -- The Bihar unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday launched an outreach initiative to gather public feedback for its manifesto ahead of the upcoming assembly elections scheduled for November. The party flagged off "petiyan rath" (chariots carrying suggestion boxes) to travel across the state and collect suggestions from voters on key issues and priorities.
BJP state president Dilip Jaiswal flagged off the 'chariots' (vehicles) at a function in Patna, marking the beginning of the party's "suggestion collection campaign," which will run from October 5 to 20.
"The BJP has always worked for the welfare of the poor, empowerment of women, and the progress of farmers. To ensure that the NDA government is re-elected and continues its development journey, we are seeking suggestions from the people of Bihar for our manifesto," Jaiswal said in a statement issued on Sunday.
He said the party aims to collect inputs from one crore people across all 243 assembly constituencies in 38 districts. The "petiyan rath" will visit both urban and rural areas to engage with citizens directly.
"This time, our manifesto will focus on the welfare of the poor, employment for the youth, empowerment of women, and welfare of farmers," Jaiswal said, adding that the development work initiated by the NDA government would be taken forward with new initiatives based on people's expectations.
The party also launched a 'Viksit Bihar' website to enable citizens to submit their suggestions online.
Bihar minister Prem Kumar, programme coordinator and state spokesperson Suresh Rungta, MLC Devesh Kumar, state vice-president Santosh Pathak, Prof Sita Sinha, and state media co-incharge Amit Prakash Bablu were among those present at the event....
