PATNA, Aug. 20 -- The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) on Wednesday arrested a biometric operator Atul Raj Pandey in a case of rigging in the Assistant Public Sanitation and Waste Management Officer (APSWMO) examination organised by Bihar public service commission (BPSC). Pandey has been produced before the special vigilance court and forwarded to judicial custody. EOU official familiar with the matter said Pandey was associated with the solver gang of the APSWMO exam held in April this year. His associates are also being under scanner. Investigation revealed that Atul Raj Pandey was posted as a biometric operator at the Raghunath Girls High School Centre at Kankarbagh during the APSWMO examination. Important digital evidence related to the APSWMO exam was found from the mobile phone of his colleague Deepika Kumari, while Atul's mobile was also seized from the examination centre. According to the EOU, on April 23, examinee Roshan Kumar was caught while receiving the answer-key from the biometric employee Anshupriya at the AN College examination centre in Patna. An FIR registered with the SK Puri police station in this connection. Atul Raj Pandey's involvement also found in the SK Puri case. He has previously worked with various jammer and biometric companies in many competitive examinations and provided manpower to these companies. During the interrogation, he has given many important clues related to managed examination centres and active solver gang, on the basis of which further action is being taken. The EOU DIG Manavjit Singh Dhillon said that the campaign against paper leaks and gangs rigging for economic gain in the competitive examinations will continue and the role of other accused in the case is also being thoroughly investigated....
