ARA, March 2 -- Bihar will soon have another state-of-the-art sports facility to offer training infrastructure for multiple indoor and outdoor games backed by a sophisticated sports scheme and performance support framework. The groundbreaking ceremony for the world-class sporting facility in Bihar and eastern India, being developed on 70 acres at Naya Haripur under Koilwar block of Bhojpur district, was held on Sunday under the aegis of Takshila educational society through PAHAL-Takshila's initiative for sports. Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit, Bhojpur SP Raj, besides people associated with sports and other fields, were present on the occasion. "PAHAL introduces a transformative school-NGO collaboration model to the Indian sports landscape and endeavours to bridge the critical gap between education and professional sports," said Takshila Education Society founder Sanjiv Kumar. The campus infrastructure and facilities will feature a sports-science endurance centre, testing and support labs with comprehensive athlete-focused amenities. To enable year round training, the plan includes housing for sportsperson, coaches and administrative staff alongwith cafeteria, library and nursery. It is Bihar's first mega private sports facility and the plan is to further expand the area in future, said Kumar. The first phase of PAHAL is likely to be completed by October 2027. Once ready, the campus will be managed by Takshin's Sports Foundation....
