PATNA, March 9 -- Deputy chief minister Samrat Choudhary on Sunday announced that state government would purchase 50 drones at a cost of around 24.50 crore as part of police modernisation for higher vigilance and tackling law and order issues In a press statement, Chouhdary, who handles the home portfolio, said that the process for purchase of drones has started and it would help the police machinery in crowd management, vigilance in riverine areas, crime monitoring and disaster management. " It is often not possible to monitor things through conventional methods in some areas. Drones would be effective for aerial monitoring and information collection would help the police to act promptly in any law and order issue. Drone would also come in helpful in monitoring criminal activities and preempt major crime incidents," Choudhary said. He also said the Bihar police may also take guidance from border security forces and central armed police forces( CAPF) to make the mechanism of using drones more effective....
