PATNA, March 16 -- In a joint operation, Bihar STF and Madhepura police unearthed an illegal mini-gun manufacturing unit run in the guise of grill-welding workshop run by one Rajiv Singh, a native of Gangapur Balha under Ratwara police station of Madhepura district, STF official said on Sunday. During the raid, the police seized 35 semi-finished pistols, one country made pistol, 19 live cartridges of different bores, five empty cartridges, two magazines, milling machine, drill machine, grinder machine, welding machines, lathe machine and large quantity of parts and equipments that were used in manufacturing the illegal firearms. Director General (Operation), Kundan Krishnan, said that acting on a tip-off, a joint team of STF and Madhepura police late on Saturday raided the house and workshop of Rajiv Singh and unearthed illegal arms manufacturing units. Police arrested two persons identified as Tuno Singh (24) and Pandav Kumar (20) said to be brother of absconding Rajiv Singh. A manhunt launched against Rajiv Singh, organiser of the mini-gun factory Mohammad Chand, a native of Wardah in Munger and his skilled arms maker Mukesh Kumar Tanti, a resident of Purabsarai in Munger. "The arrested brothers revealed the names of other people to whom they used to supply the illegal firearms. Raid is going on to nab them," said the Madhepura SP.
