Patna, Aug. 26 -- The government on Tuesday rolled out the 'Vidyarthi Sahyog Shivir' (Student Support Camp) from the Bihar College of Engineering in Bidupur, Vaishali aimed at fast redressal of student-centric issues including infrastructure shortcomings and academic issues in schools as well as higher education institutions across the state. Inaugurated by CM Samrat Choudhary under the 'Sabka Samman, Jeevan Aasan' campaign of the 'Saat Nishchay-III' roadmap, this initiative establishes a structured mechanism to directly address campus concerns, gather actionable student feedback, and streamline administrative efficiency across higher education institutions throughout the state. Notably, this comes in the backdrop of multiple rounds of students agitations demanding accountability and transparency. Higher education campuses statewide will now host a Vidyarthi Sahyog Shivir on the fourth Tuesday of every month. These sessions will serve as open platforms to review and solve problems concerning academic coursework, examination schedules, hostel accommodation, and physical infrastructure. To eliminate bureaucratic delays and ensure swift accountability, the administration has enforced a strict 30-day mandate, requiring every registered student grievance to be investigated and definitively solved within one month. Complementing the monthly on-ground camps is an integrated digital framework designed for seamless accessibility. Students can log academic or logistic issues, share suggestions, and track real-time resolution updates via the dedicated Vidyarthi Sahyog portal or by dialling the state's centralised toll-free helpline 1100. Sources in the education department said the programme was earlier designed only for college goers but several applications from school goers were received and now arrangements were made to allow all students access to the service. This multi-channel approach guaranteed that every student maintained continuous access to administrative support beyond the designated monthly physical camps, officials said.
