bihar cleric arrested for remark on u.p. cm's mother
PURNEA, March 31 -- Former AIMIM leader Maulana Abdullah Salim Chaturvedi on Monday was arrested from Bihar's Purnea in connection with his objectionable remarks regarding Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adtyanath's mother during a religious gathering in Bihar's Araria.
He was booked for his remarks on March 7 by Balrampur police station on the complaint of BJP leader Ravi Mishra.
While police in Purnea are tightlipped over the arrest, AIMIM leader has declared his arrest unwarranted and termed it an attack on right to speech.
Maulana was reportedly arrested from Dalmalpur village in Amour police station area. "UP police with the support of local police arrested him from the village where he was addressing a religious gathering.
Maulana Abduallah Salim Chaturvedi, a resident of Araria, is famous in the region for his religious speeches and being close to political parties....
