Aasha Devi's announcement of a fast unto death is being closely watched by people whether with such an announcement, the family could get justice in this case.
Meanwhile on Sunday, Bihar minister Ashok Choudhary met the family members of Bharat Bhushan Tiwari at Bilauti of Shahpur and expressed condolences. He assured the family that they will get justice. He said that no guilty officer or police official involved in this incident will be spared and that he will stand with the family.
"I met Bharat Tiwari's family and assured them that they would get justice. There are many aspects of the case that I was not aware of earlier, and I have now been apprised of them. I will brief the CM on all these issues and inform him about the prevailing situation," he said.
The minister also refuted allegations that the then SDPO was promoted, stating that it was a wrong perception.
"It is being wrongly propagated that the DSP has been promoted. No promotion has been given. He has only been transferred so he could not make any impact in this case ," Choudhary said.
The minister further said that it will also be looked why SDM was present when encounter took place. This issue has been raised by former DGP Abhyanand too.
The minister said the very fact that the government had ordered a judicial inquiry reflected its commitment to a fair probe. He also said in India, there is a judicial process and it will work it as per law.
"If there was no intention to ensure justice, there would have been no need for a judicial inquiry. The government could have asked an IG-rank officer to investigate. This is not a monarchy, nor is it like Iran where punishment is arbitrary. We have a judicial system here. It may take some time, but justice will definitely be delivered," the minister said.
Many leaders and workers including MLA Arun Manjhi of Bihar government and others were present on this occasion....
