SASARAM, April 25 -- Vigilance Investigation Bureau (VIB) sleuths arrested a Block Cooperative Officer (BCO) red-handed while he was accepting a bribe of Rs.10,000 from a Primary Agriculture Credit Society (PACS) manager in Rohtas district on Friday, officials said. Vigilance Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Akhilesh Prasad Singh said that Janardan Kumar, the BCO of Rajpur block, had demanded Rs.10,000 from Rajpur PACS manager Prashant Kumar for the verification of a warehouse. The PACS manager subsequently lodged a complaint with the VIB. After verifying the complaint, the allegations were found to be true. A vigilance team then reached Rajpur and laid a trap....
