Bargain land case: Soren seeks stay on proceedings
RANCHI, Sept. 10 -- The Jharkhand High Court on Wednesday directed the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) to file a counter affidavit to a petition filed by chief minister Hemant Soren seeking a stay on the proceedings in the special PMLA court that has taken cognisance of the prosecution complaint filed by the federal agency in connection with the Bargain land case, people aware of the development said.
Hearing the matter, the bench of Justice Sujeet Narayan Prasad listed it for hearing on September 16. The CM has filed two separate petitions in the HC in the matter---one challenging the special court's decision to take cognisance of the prosecution complaint and the second rejecting the discharge petition filed by Soren....
