PURNEA, July 3 -- A 35-year-old Customer Service Point (CSP) operator of the Bank of India (BOI) was shot allegedly by three miscreants who robbed him of around Rs.7 lakh on Wednesday evening near Gehumani village under Bharrahi police station limits, police said on Thursday. Seemant Sundaram was on his way home at Maheshuwa on his motorcycle after withdrawing cash from the BOI branch at Madhepura at 6 pm when three bike-borne men intercepted him and tried to snatch the bag containing cash. When he resisted, they fired multiple rounds and one hit him in the neck. Locals said that the miscreants also fired multiple rounds to intimidate the people and later flex with the bag. Police said that Sundaram is battling for life at Jan Nayak Karpoori Thakur Medical College and Hospital in Madhepura. The CCTV footage of nearby houses has been obtained. Additional superintendent of police (ASP) Pravendra Bharti said, "The CSP operator should have informed the local police as per guidelines issued for the businessmen before transporting cash. Police have lodged an FIR and a hunt is underway to nab the accused persons."...
