Amity team wins Word Bee 2025 contest at PWC
PATNA, Sept. 25 -- Sheba Eram and Khadija Siddique on Wednesday clinched the Inter-College Invitational Word Bee 2025 trophy. The contest was held in the Carmel Hall of Patna Women's College. The winning team was from the Amity Institute of English Studies, Patna.
The teams of Anushka Kumari and Rushali Priya and Tasneem Fatma and Deepanjali Kumari, all from the Department of English, Patna Women's College, were declared runner-up and 2nd runner-up, respectively.
An annual event conducted by the Department of English Communication and Media to inculcate a spirit of developing functional vocabulary, it was opened to invited institutes from across Patna this year.
The contest comprised a written preliminary round in which 51 teams participated.
The top six teams moved to the finals for an onstage round.
The finals tested participants on their language skills relating to books' names, etymology, word construction and a round completely dedicated to Taylor Swift's songs, where participants had to pick a specific word from lyrics of her songs.
With the audience comprising Gen Z members, it was obviously the most liked one....
