PATNA, Aug. 25 -- The agitating PhD holders and research scholars who were on a sit in for the last 21 days at Gardanibagh in Patna, decided on Monday to call off their stir after a meeting with Governor cum Chancellor Lt. Gen. (Retd) Syed Ata Hasnain at Lok Bhawan, a press statement said. It was decided that a committee would be formed to look into their main demands including raising the maximum age limit for applying for assistant professors to 55 and also taking written examination for assistant professor recruitment, apart from other issues.
