PATNA, May 20 -- Nitish Kumar, an accused involved in Rs.27 lakh loot incident, was injured during a police encounter at Udayani village under Gopalpur police station on Tuesday morning. The injured has been admitted to PMCH for treatment, police said. "The police surrounded the criminals. Upon seeing the police, they opened fire, prompting the police to return fire in which accused Nitish was injured," police added. Police said during this incident, Nitish was shot in the leg and injured. Police chased and apprehended four other criminals. Patna SSP K Sharma said in the CMS security van loot case on May 13, the police had earlier arrested three criminals: Suraj Pandey, Aditya Kumar, and Ravi Kumar. Police received information that a fourth criminal, Nitish Kumar, was travelling on a bike, he added. He said that police recovered a pistol and a revolver from the scene.
