AAI floats Rs.28.42 crore airside infra tender for Birpur airport
PATNA, July 22 -- The Airports Authority of India (AAI) on Tuesday issued a Rs.28.42-crore tender for the construction of a runway, taxiway, apron and other airside infrastructure to enable operations of Code-2B category aircraft, having a seating capacity of up to 20 passengers, at Birpur airport in Supaul district.
The tender marks another key milestone in the airport's revival under the Centre's Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS)-UDAN, aimed at improving air connectivity in underserved regions. The last date of bid submission is August 13 and bids will open on August 20, said Nilesh Ramchandra Deore, secretary in civil aviation department.
Earlier, on March 10, AAI floated a separate Rs.36.38-crore tender for the construction of the airport's landside infrastructure. The contract has already been awarded....
