PATNA, Aug. 8 -- Ninety five railway officials were honoured for their exemplary dedication, hard work and outstanding contribution, while 56 Efficiency Shields were presented to various divisions and departments for outstanding performance, officials said on Friday. The award ceremony, accompanied by a cultural programme, was hosted at Patliputra Railway Complex, Digha, celebrating excellence and commitment within East Central Railway (ECR). ECR general manager Chhatrasal Singh emphasised the need to align efforts with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, stressing safety, innovation and meticulous track maintenance as key priorities. "Indian Railways is working tirelessly toward the fulfillment of the Prime Minister's vision. ECR plays a pivotal role in realising this vision. Our future roadmap must prioritise innovation, uncompromising safety standards, rigorous training and structural reforms," he said. All Efficiency Shield 2026 for outstanding performance in the overall sector was awarded to Dhanbad Division while the General Manager Efficiency Runners Up Cup was jointly awarded to Sonepur and DDU Divisions. In ECR, Sanitation Shield was awarded to DDU Jn in large stations category, Narkatiaganj Station in medium and Rajgir Station in small for cleanliness drive. Rail Help Shield pertaining to best performance in redressal of grievances was awarded jointly to Samastipur and Sonepur divisions. Singh said that with collective efforts, ECR performed excellently in the first quarter of the current financial year. Significant achievements have been made in the areas of passenger amenities, safety, security, infrastructure development and revenue generation. The work of modernisation of stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is also progressing rapidly. The well-being of our employees is our top priority, he further said. He added that several important steps have been taken towards appointment, promotion, compassionate appointment, scholarships, strengthening of health services and promotion of sports and cultural activities. Singh said the credit for these achievements goes to the hard work, dedication and team spirit of all employees, which have contributed significantly to these achievements.
