SAHARSA, July 4 -- Ten police personnel including nine sub-inspectors (SI) and one assistant SI posted at various police stations across Saharsa, Supaul and Madhepura districts under Kosi division were suspended on Friday for their alleged connivance with the drug syndicate, an officer said. The action was taken based on the report of an SIT constituted by DIG of Kosi range Dr Kumar Ashish. Following multiple complaints, he made a surprise inspection at Salkhua police station on Thursday and found mobile conversations between SI Mukesh Kumar and one Satish Kumar. Police seized a laptop, a keyboard and case diary from his possession. Taking strong note of the seizure, DIG constituted an SIT under Simri Bakhtiyarpur SDPO. "The SIT has found police officers' connivance with drug syndicates in the region," police sources said. SIT on Friday arrested Satish Kumar and charged him under BNS sections 316 (3) (criminal breach of trust), 318 (4) (cheating with valuable security), 336 (3) (forgery for cheating), 338 (forgery of valuable security or will) and 340 (2) (using forged document as genuine). DIG Ashish told HT, "Further proceedings will be initiated against those suspended." He appealed to citizens to report to him or senior police officers about unauthorised persons facilitating illegal police-related work. "Their identity will be kept confidential," he added. Those suspended include - Mukesh Kumar Singh (SHO/SI) and SI Subelal Paswan of Salkhua police station and SI Pankaj Kumar of Nauhatta police station (all three from Saharsa); SI Juhi Kumari (Triveniganj police station), SI Shishupal Ravidas (Raghopur police station) and SI Pinki Kumari (Supaul police line) (all three from Supaul); SI Armod Kumar (Bharrahi PS), SI Chandrajeet Prabhakar (Madhepura Police line), SI/SHO Jyotish Kumar (Ghailarh PS) and ASI Manisha Kumari (Madhepura police line) (all four from Madhepura district)....
