PURNEA, Aug. 18 -- Police in Bihar's Supaul seized 342 kilograms of cannabis valued at approximately Rs.1.36 crore from a makeshift boat near Raniganj Kosi embankment under Bhimnagar police station on Monday, officers said. The smugglers escaped leaving behind the consignment. Vipur sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Surendra Kumar said, "The seized narcotics were packed tightly into nine plastic sacks. Fearing being caught, the smugglers left the site, leaving behind the makeshift boat. An FIR has been registered and further investigation is underway."
